The WMO-WHO Joint Office for Climate and Health is seeking a part-time consultant to assist with the identification, uploading and management of resources for two of its websites: www.climahealth.info and www.ghhin.org

 

Contract type: SSA

Location: remote / home-based

Dates: 1 October 2023 – 31 March 2024 (6 months with possibility of extension)

Time requirement: 8 days / month (flexible schedule)

Pay: USD 200 / day

Responsibilities:

 

The consultant will assist the site coordinator by:

 

  • Monitoring the internet for new, relevant publications, tools, news and events and adding them to the appropriate website(s) daily;
  • Following editorial guidelines to ensure content fits within the scope of inclusion and meets quality standards;
  • Entering accurate tagging and metadata for each upload;
  • Flagging submitted content that may require review by the Editorial Board;
  • Flagging key content for additional promotion;
  • Supporting preparation of social media campaigns and newsletters.

 

Requirements

 

  • Demonstrated experience managing websites using a standard CMS (WordPress preferred);
  • A bachelor’s degree and some experience or education in a field related to the topics of the websites, for example in climate change / environment, public health, medicine, disaster risk reduction, etc.;
  • High level proficiency in English. Fluency in additional UN languages is considered an asset (French, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Arabic);
  • Communications skills will be considered an asset, including experience in writing, editing, social media and graphic design.
