Charleston Heat-Health Research Project – U.S
Organization: South Carolina Sea Grant Consortium
The Climate and Health Resilience Program (CHHRP), led by the South Carolina Sea Grant Consortium, helps coastal communities build resilience to climate-related health risks. Through community-based research, stakeholder engagement, and the integration of science and public health, the program addresses challenges like extreme heat, flooding, and environmental justice. CHHRP works in partnership with local governments, nonprofits, and academic institutions to co-develop solutions that prioritize health equity and long-term climate adaptation. The initiative supports data-driven decision-making and promotes community resilience strategies tailored to South Carolina’s unique coastal vulnerabilities.
