This article discusses how heatwave interventions in the Global South must address unique gendered challenges. Women are disproportionately affected by heat-related health risks due to socio-economic and cultural factors, lack of access to cooling infrastructure, and greater exposure to indoor heat sources. The study underscores the need for gender-sensitive approaches in designing heatwave mitigation strategies, especially in resource-constrained environments, to ensure effective and equitable community resilience to extreme heat.
